Bob Lee, the founder of Cash App, was an American technology executive and software engineer. He was the chief technology officer of Square and the chief product officer of MobileCoin.
On April 4, 2023, he was fatally stabbed and brutally killed in San Francisco’s Rincon Hill district.

Robert Lee was a quiet man who disliked discussing his family. He had a wife named Krista, but their wedding was not public. He lived in a San Francisco condo and had two children, but their names and other information are not provided.

Lee Lee was stabbed in the early morning hours of April 4, 2023 in San Francisco’s Rincon Hill area. He was seen on CCTV stumbling to a parked car with its hazard lights on and removing his shirt to reveal his injuries.
Following his death, MobileCoin CEO Joshua Goldbard, Square CEO Jack Dorsey, former Google employee Joshua Bloch, mixed martial artist Jake Shields, San Francisco district attorney Brooke Jenkins, San Francisco Board of Supervisors member Matt Dorsey, San Francisco mayor London Breed, and Figma CEO Dylan Field all paid tribute.
In a statement released on Wednesday, San Francisco Mayor London Breed called Lee’s death a “sad tragedy.”
According to the San Francisco Police Department, when police responded to the site of a reported stabbing early Tuesday morning in San Francisco’s Rincon area, they discovered a 43-year-old adult male victim suffering from apparent stab wounds.
