In the fourth Test at the Gabba, he scored 91 runs to help India win the series. On 18 January 2023, he scored a double century and became the youngest batsman to score a double century in ODIs in men’s international cricket.

He also scored his first T20I century and currently holds the record for the highest individual score by an Indian in men’s T20I.
